The following case histories demonstrate some of the ways in which the Ultima team intervenes on behalf of either the employer or the employee. The Ultima philosophy of early intervention, expediting investigations, and/or problem solving results in a timely return to work by a motivated employee. In some situations the employee may actually be delayed from a return to work in a safety sensitive/ safety critical situation when a medical situation precludes a return to work. In these cases Ultima assists in tailoring workplace restrictions, which may be of a short or long term nature and which encourages an appropriate return to work timeframe. Ultima strives to return an Employee to the workplace, as quickly and as safely as possible, whereby the employee is safe to him/herself and safe to the workplace.   This results in:

Improved Employee Morale as he/she realizes that "somebody" is looking after his/her interests.
Improved employee satisfaction as he/she is able to become productive sooner.
Significant cost savings to the employer.

In cases where the employee is no longer able to work in his/her regular duties, Ultima will assist the employer in developing a formula that will arrive at a long term workplace accommodation. Alternatively when it is clear that the employee is no longer able to function in any suitable or available position, this will be clarified to the employer, so that a final arrangement can be concluded with the employee in accordance with Company's corporate policy. Recent discussions with a large corporate client have revealed that cost savings of between $2.25 -$2.75 million have been achieved through Ultima's interventions this year alone!
