We are proud to announce that Ultima Medical Services Inc. has been accredited by the BC College of Physicians & Surgeons Diagnostic Accreditation Program (DAP) to perform Spirometry/Pulmonary Function Tests.

The College now requires all medical practitioners who perform the test and interpret the results of the Spirometry/Lung Function Testing to be accredited.

What is included:

  1. Diagnosis and Monitoring:
    • It helps diagnose and monitor lung conditions such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma.
    • By measuring airflow, spirometry provides valuable information about lung function
  2. Treatment Planning
    • Spirometry results guide treatment decisions.
    • For example, it helps determine the appropriate use of bronchodilators (medications that open up the airways).
  3. Assessing Disease Severity
    • Spirometry classifies the severity of lung diseases.
    • It helps healthcare professionals understand how well the lungs are functioning.
  4. Baseline Measurements
    • Establishing baseline lung function allows comparison over time.
    • Changes in spirometry results can indicate disease progression.
  5. Procedure Length :
    • The entire test takes about 15 minutes, performed by an accredited Medical Office Assistant (MOA). The results are interpreted by accredited Occupational Health Physicians.

Our fee is $122.00 per spirometry, including the physician interpretation.
